Beginning Jan. 9, and through the academic year, which ends in May, the start time for classes at 31 higher education institutions located near metro stations in Tashkent will change, according to a report by the press service of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This decision was made to reduce vehicle traffic in the city area, distribute the flow of passengers more evenly in the Tashkent metro, and make it easier for students to reach their classes on time.

Accordingly, classes at Webster University Tashkent will commence one hour later at 9:30 a.m. All class schedule changes are effective Jan. 9 for graduate students and Jan. 16 for undergraduate students. For all Webster students, it is recommended to review and confirm their class schedules.

This change was made in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated July 8, 2022 and titled “On Additional Measures to Increase the Efficiency of Tashkent City Public Transport” No. PQ-313; the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan; the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and the Tashkent City Administration.
