On April 17, Webster University in Tashkent successfully hosted its annual Career Fair, a standout event that brought together 92 companies and approximately 1,500 students and visitors for a full day of professional discovery, networking and real-time hiring.

Designed to empower students as they transition from academic life into their professional journeys, the Career Fair served as a powerful bridge between talent and opportunity. Participating organizations represented a wide range of industries and offered both internship and full-time employment opportunities — giving students a valuable head start in building their careers.

Around 60% of participating companies offered at least five open positions, while 40% had more than 10 opportunities available, demonstrating strong employer demand for emerging talent. Among the distinguished companies in attendance were UNFPA, TBC Bank, KPMG Uzbekistan, Ernst & Young, UZCARD, Click, Beeline, Uzairports, Nestlé and Coca-Cola Bottlers. Additionally, AmCham Uzbekistan made a remarkable statement by exclusively recruiting from Webster University in Tashkent, further highlighting the university’s growing reputation as a talent hub in the region.

One of the most dynamic features of the fair was the on-the-spot hiring process, held in transparent cabins in the campus yard. Four companies conducted simultaneous interviews for 12 job roles, and by the end of the day, several students received immediate internship and job offers, celebrating the beginning of their career journeys during the event.

Students also explored the art of professional presentation during an engaging session on Corporate Wardrobe Essentials. The workshop, led by a local professional stylist, offered practical tips on dressing for interviews and the workplace. The session concluded with a clothing giveaway sponsored by local fashion brands, helping attendees build their professional image with confidence.

Dr. Anthony Jarvis, rector of Webster University in Tashkent, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in student development: “Career Fair 2025 reflects our commitment to preparing students not just for graduation, but for life beyond university. It’s rewarding to see our students take confident steps toward their futures, supported by real opportunities and industry partnerships.”

New to this year’s event was the participation of 10th- and 11th-grade students from partner schools, who experienced a tailored orientation program. They learned about academic offerings and career options, toured the campus and went home with special university-branded gifts.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Aziza Khalmurzaeva, head of the Office of Career Development and Alumni Relations and main organizer of the event, said: “The Career Fair 2025 is an incredibly inspiring annual event and a true reflection of our commitment to empowering students for their future careers. We take pride in creating a seamless experience where students connect with industry leaders, gain insights and build the confidence to navigate the professional world. Witnessing their ambition and knowing this event sparks real opportunities reaffirms my belief in the transformative power of collaboration between education and industry.”
