Webster University Tashkent brought together leading voices in higher education, accreditation and policy for the inaugural International Quality Assurance Forum (IQAF) 2025, held Sept. 19–20. The event marked a significant step in strengthening academic standards and institutional development across Central Asia.
Over two days, IQAF gathered experts for keynote speeches, panel discussions and hands-on sessions focused on key areas of quality assurance, from curriculum evaluation and accreditation frameworks to student-centered learning and continuous improvement models. The program emphasized how strong quality assurance systems can elevate educational outcomes and align regional institutions with international standards.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Uzbekistan Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov said “This forum demonstrates Uzbekistan’s commitment to aligning our higher education system with international standards. Through collaborations with partners such as Webster University and major accreditation bodies, we are ensuring that our universities take meaningful steps to prepare students to compete effectively in an increasingly globalized world.”
Sessions throughout the forum explored national and global QA systems, the role of internal and external evaluation mechanisms, the impact of emerging technologies including AI, innovative teaching models such as problem-based and student-centered learning and new approaches to safeguarding academic integrity.
IQAF 2025 served as an important platform for collaboration. Participants identified opportunities for regional partnerships, joint projects and cross-institutional initiatives aimed at strengthening quality assurance practices and enhancing the competitiveness of universities across the region.
