October 11, 2025

Webster University Tashkent hosted the International TESOL Conference Oct. 10–11, marking a milestone as Uzbekistan welcomed an international TESOL event for the first time.
Organized in collaboration with TESOL Conferences UAE, the two-day forum brought together more than 250 educators, researchers and academic leaders from 10 countries, establishing a new regional platform for professional exchange in English language teaching.
The conference, held under the theme “Lead the Change – Reframing TESOL for Global Learners,” explored emerging trends in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Participants discussed innovative methods for preparing students for a globalized world through keynote lectures, research presentations and hands-on workshops.
Sessions covered a wide range of topics, including modern classroom strategies, online education, academic writing, intercultural communication and inclusive teaching practices. A strong focus was placed on the growing impact of artificial intelligence in language assessment and curriculum design, an area that drew significant interest from both local and international experts.
Hosting the event underscored Webster University Tashkent’s commitment to advancing academic excellence and professional development in the region. The University emphasized that creating a platform for international dialogue aligns with its mission to prepare globally minded educators and learners while contributing to Uzbekistan’s expanding role in global education.
Participants praised both the academic quality and the collaborative atmosphere of the conference. Events like this reinforce Webster University Tashkent’s dedication to educational excellence and its role as a global hub for academic success.”
