January 20, 2026

Webster University Tashkent participated in the second Educational Centers Forum organized by the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, bringing together key stakeholders in the country’s rapidly developing education sector.
The event was held on Dec. 12–13, 2025 at the Youth Creativity Palace in Tashkent and gathered representatives from more than 700 leading educational centers from across Uzbekistan. The forum serves as a national platform aimed at supporting youth development through education, with a particular focus on foreign language proficiency and modern professional skills. One of its central objectives aligns with the national “2+6” initiative, which promotes the mastery of at least two foreign languages and one modern profession among young people. This program, introduced following the first forum, is now being actively implemented nationwide.
According to official data announced during the event, more than 400,000 young people are currently studying in over 38,000 educational centers across Uzbekistan. These figures demonstrate the growing interest in education and confirm the effectiveness of government-led reforms focused on expanding access to quality learning opportunities. The forum also highlighted notable achievements in language education, including the rise in high IELTS scores among Uzbek youth, with 68 students achieving a perfect band score of nine.
Webster University’s participation underscored its role as an active contributor to Uzbekistan’s educational transformation. As the first American university established in the country, Webster continues to promote international academic standards, multilingual education and global competencies. The university’s programs emphasize not only professional expertise but also strong foreign language skills, preparing graduates to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
During the forum, speakers and panelists discussed practical aspects of educational development, including sustainability of educational institutions, digital integration, quality standards and collaboration between public and private sectors. The event also provided opportunities for open dialogue, experience exchange and networking among educators, policymakers and youth representatives.
U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick addressed forum participants, emphasizing the importance of ongoing education reforms in the country. He highlighted Webster University’s unique role in strengthening academic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States and encouraged further partnership development, knowledge exchange and institutional collaboration.
Webster University representatives engaged with educational leaders and partner organizations throughout the forum, exploring opportunities for cooperation and sharing best practices in higher education. The event reinforced the importance of building strong links between universities, educational centers and employers to ensure that graduates are well-prepared for both local and international career paths.
The Educational Centers Forum concluded with discussions on future initiatives, networking sessions and visits to partner institutions. For Webster University, participation in this national forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational innovation, youth empowerment and international academic collaboration in Uzbekistan.
